In 1978 James Dyson became frustrated with his vacuum cleaner, it had clearly deteriorated in the performance it was delivering compared to when he first brought it home.
He took it apart to find the bag was clogging with dust which in effect was causing the reduced performance. After over 5,000 prototypes and 5 years, James Dyson had managed to create the world's first bagless vacuum cleaner. James then went on to create the world's first vacuum cleaner to maintain 100% of suction 100% of the time.
From that one incident came what is arguably one of the most remarkable engineering stories to come out of Britain!
Fast-forward to today and Dyson now design, engineer, and create some of the most beautiful appliances from vacuum cleaners to bladeless fans and hand dryers.
