Safety is paramount when it comes to household appliances. Washing machines, dryers, ovens, hobs, fridge freezers, and dishwashers can pose risks if faulty, poorly maintained, or improperly used. At Glotech Repairs, we’ve spent over 50 years helping homeowners and landlords across London, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, and nationwide identify and fix appliance safety issues.
Check plugs, cables, and sockets for damage. Faulty wiring can cause shocks or fires.
Gas ovens, hobs, and cookers should be inspected regularly. A professional engineer ensures connections are safe and leak-free.
Ovens, hobs, and kettles should heat evenly. Faulty elements can overheat and present fire risks.
Inspect hoses and seals in washing machines, dishwashers, and fridge freezers. Leaks can cause electrical hazards or structural damage.
Dryers and ovens need adequate ventilation to prevent overheating and fires. Clean filters, vents, and ducts regularly.
Regular safety checks ensure appliances remain reliable, protect your home and tenants, and reduce costly damage or emergency repairs.
Good morning Alex,
Thank you for your message. With your Bosch HBG5785S0B/01 oven, if it’s resetting back to the default 160°C during cooking, it’s less likely to be just the temperature sensor. This behaviour often points to a faulty control panel, selector switch, or main PCB issue where the oven intermittently loses or resets the programmed setting.
Unfortunately, this isn’t something that can usually be resolved without inspection. We’d recommend booking one of our engineers to properly diagnose and repair the fault for you.
Best regards,
Glotech Repairs.

Monday, September 22, 2025 at 8:22 pmGood evening,
I wonder if you can help.
I have a Bosch oven, HBG5785S0B/01 which during cooking it intermittently’s resets back to default temperature setting of 160degC. I then turn it back up to the correct cooking temperature and it will then do it again.
Can you offer any advice on what this problem may be? Is it a faulty temperature sensor?
Thanks,
Alex
