Identifying error codes

If your machine has a digital display, like most modern Indesit appliances do, error codes will be shown on the display. They’re represented by a letter followed by two numbers. This code will help you to find out what’s wrong with your machine, but not necessarily how to fix it.

Find out what’s wrong with your appliance below.

Fault codes for Indesit washing machines and washer dryers

  • F10 – No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
  • F11 – No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.

hi i have noted the above and understand that the above also goes for the wd10uk i have had a problem i see F15 and F16 to do with high water levels, the kitchen flooded after the dryer came on ,i found that the program knob was turning round on its own ,the water continually filling and the pump not getting the water out, the module had burns to it so i ordered another one from unifit supposed to have been programmed ,but it wasn’t and it never had a chip in it, i put the chip in from the old one it blew the module, i ordered a new programmed chip module it blew again i found it strange that thee of the plug leads can fit the same areas i thought they were slotted only to fit the correct areas, anyway switching on the machine came on no mater where the program was the pump although working was not sending water out the pump was checked for clarity and hoses was checked and drain cleaned and the water was continually still coming in after the costs involved i have decide to get another machine but i would like to know why this machine became so problematic i dont even think that indesit knows since they have provided two different types of modules ant ideas thanks

Hi I have the Indesit condensed dryer
model No. IDCE8450BH(UK)
It is currently flashing all lights and has the code F08 on the display screen
Does this mean it is broken or it there a simple way of fixing my dryer! I haven’t had it long!
A fast response would be helpful as I really need my dryer working!

Regards

Hi, I’ve got an F02 error on my washer-dryer on the very first day. I see it means a motor error or fan or tacho error. What do I need to do?

If it is brand new then you need to contact your retailer, they will tell you what to do. A plug could have become loose or detached in transit of there could be a faulty component.

Most likely it is a communication error between boards, there is not much you can do yourself to fix this fault, you need an experienced engineer, otherwise you could end up spending well over £100 on a control board that is not needed. Also the boards on these probably need programming which you can’t do yourself.

I own an Indesit washingmachine model BWE 81683 WSSS. Having an error code F03 indication washer thermistor short fault. I have changed the thermostat with an other indesit original one also the connection wire plug. But the error returns again after several wash use most of the time it stays away for 3 to 4 use cycles but returns again. Is there any info on this? Maybe sometime software or mechanical related on this model? Any info or help very much appreciated.

Having an error code F03 on a Indesit BWE 81683X WSSS. Which indicates a thermistor malfunction. Changed the unit and connection plug. After a few uses this error returns and wash cycle is not begin finalized so door has to be opens manually. Is this a known issue? Any help or information is appreciated.

If the repair fixed the fault initially then it is odd. Make sure that the thermistor is still in the correct place also wiring and plug are not damaged and connected. You can test the thermistor by making sure there is a resistance reading on it and it is not short circuit or open circuit.
Other than this it could be a board fault but at this point you need to make sure you are not throwing money at the machine guessing what is wrong with it.

I am not aware of any known problems that could cause this.

Only a service engineer could flash the board software on this machine as you need to order a smart card and have a reader. Even then the system is terrible and often doesn’t work. Indesit engineers do it through their laptop so van have loads of goes trying to fix it. The smart cards are single use so you need to buy a new one each time it doesn’t work.

For this reason I wouldn’t buy a Hotpoint or Indesit washing machine or washer dryer and there must be tens of thousands of these products in landfill unnecessarily.

Sounds like could be a temperature sensor NTC fault or there is a wiring problem on the back of the heater. Normally this fault is worth repairing but only attempt working on a product if you are competent and the appliance is disconnected from the mains.

You need to do an insulation test on the heater but to do that you need a test meter capable of it. A heater fault could cause this to happen.

Indesit washing machine. Error code F01

MGlotech
Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 10:17 am

That code is for a short circuit motor triac.
After thoroughly checking the motor for faults you will probably need to change the PCB. Be careful as if the motor is faulty it could blow the new PCB as soon as you fit it.

Hi , my tumble dryer keeps flashing red light saying that I have to empty the water collector/container. It stops every couple of minutes with this message. The water container is empty and it looks like all tubes/pipes behind the dryer are in place. Can you please advise? many thanks in advance!

MGlotech

If it is a dryer where you are emptying the water at the top of the appliance the first thing to check is that the water is pumping up to the top container. If you are emptying from a container at the bottom of the appliance then there could be something wrong with the float switch or sensor.
The problem is that the product thinks that the container is full or water is not being taken away from the place it naturally collects.

Hi , thank you for the quick response. My water container is at the top of the dryer. You are right, it doesn’t look like condensation/water drops going up to it through the pipe/tube. Any advice would be kindly appreciated!
